You need to start somewhere and we are here to help you. DPhiE alumna Caty Brown, has had a long and sorted relationship with personal finances. She was off to college during the great recession and then went to live in an expensive city on a tight budget. She can help you – because she has been there.
By attending this program, you will be able to:
- Find or create a budget template that will help to keep you on track with spending.
- Understand options for student loan (or other debt) repayment.
- Learn the basics of building credit.
- Explore savings options including savings accounts, investments, CDs, 401Ks, IRAs, and more!
Speaker Bio: Caty Brown is an alumna of the Epsilon Iota chapter at SUNY Geneseo. Caty previously served as the Coordinator of Financial Services at IHQ and is now working in the Treasury Division at M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY, her hometown. Through plenty of independent research, working with financial advisors, crowd-sourcing from friends and family, and lots of trial and error, Caty now shares her lessons with other young professionals in hopes that they will avoid some of her former struggles.
