Philadelphia, PA — Delta Phi Epsilon International Sorority proudly announces the unanimous adoption of its Sisterhood Creed, a landmark addition to the organization’s governing documents that affirms its commitment to creating Sisterhood for a Lifetime.
The Grand Chapter unanimously approved the Sisterhood Creed on June 27, 2026, during the organization’s International Leadership Forum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Creed is now formally incorporated into the Sorority’s Bylaws as Article I, Section 5 – Sisterhood Creed, becoming a permanent expression of the values that unite Delta Phi Epsilon members across generations.
The adoption of the Sisterhood Creed represents one of the most significant constitutional additions in the organization’s recent history. Rooted in Delta Phi Epsilon’s founding principles of Justice, Sisterhood, and Love, the Creed provides a shared vision for what lifelong membership means while honoring the Ritual, traditions, and enduring bonds that have connected members since 1917.
“The Sisterhood Creed is more than a statement of our values. It is a declaration of who we are and who we aspire to be,” said International President Heather Locke Green. “As we looked toward the future of Delta Phi Epsilon, we wanted to clearly define what sisterhood means beyond the collegiate experience. This Creed reminds us that while our lives, careers, and circumstances may change, our commitment to one another remains constant. It reflects both our history and our promise to every member who will one day call Delta Phi Epsilon home.”
The Sisterhood Creed was developed by an International Governing Board charged committee led by Immediate Past International President Lisa Condon. The Creed was an outcome of the organization’s strategic planning process, which focuses on strengthening lifelong engagement and ensuring every member experiences the value of Delta Phi Epsilon throughout every stage of life. The Creed will serve as a guiding principle for future leadership development, member engagement initiatives, volunteer experiences, and organizational decision-making.
“This is a defining moment for our sisterhood,” said International Chief Executive Officer Nicole DeFeo. “Organizations thrive when they have a clear sense of purpose. The Sisterhood Creed captures the heart of Delta Phi Epsilon while providing a compass for the future. It will influence how we welcome new members, develop leaders, engage alumnae, and continue building an organization where every member knows she belongs, not just for four years, but for life.”
Delegates and members attending Grand Chapter witnessed the historic vote with overwhelming enthusiasm, recognizing the significance of adopting a statement that will guide generations of Delta Phi Epsilon members. The Sorority encourages every member to embrace the Sisterhood Creed and share its message with sisters around the world.
Delta Phi Epsilon Sisterhood Creed
We believe sisterhood is a promise for life, chosen with intention and lived with purpose.
Guided by Justice, Sisterhood, and Love, we choose to be rather than to seem to be, letting our actions reflect our values.
We honor our Ritual as the heart of our bond, connecting generations through shared meaning and trust.
As our lives change, our sisterhood endures. What we give may evolve, yet our commitment remains.
We grow in self, in knowledge, and in service, thinking beyond ourselves for the common good.
As Sisters, we hold one another to the highest standards.
This is our honor. This is our responsibility. This is our tradition.
This is Sisterhood for a Lifetime. This is Delta Phi Epsilon.
